High expectations surrounded DK Metcalf after the Pittsburgh Steelers traded a second-round pick for him and signed him to a big five-year contract extension. Expectations that haven’t been met through the first 12 games of his Steelers tenure.
After trading George Pickens many wanted the Steelers to bring in another receiver to help take some attention off Metcalf. The Steelers declined to do so. And the offense has really struggled without a bona fide second option at the position. It’s struggling so much that Steelers insider Gerry Dulac isn’t even sure Metcalf can be classified as a first option anymore.
