According to Tom Pelissero, the New England Patriots are officially cutting veteran receiver Kendrick Bourne. The top playmaker for their offense asked for his release, and they granted his wish less than 24 hours after making their 53-man roster. He isn't a superstar at his position, but Bourne is a serviceable receiver who could help the Pittsburgh Steelers if they address their need.
Soon after Pelissero's post on X was released, Matt Maiocco relayed that he believes the San Francisco 49ers are interested in Bourne. According to his post, "The 49ers have 'high interest' in bringing back WR Kendrick Bourne, source says, after he gets his release from the Patriots.
