The last time the Pittsburgh Steelers saw 40-year-old quarterback Joe Flacco, he carved up their highly compensated defense to the tune 342 yards and three touchdowns just a few short days after being traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Cincinnati Bengals.
That move made Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin a bit upset, and rightfully so. Tomlin knew just how big of a challenge Flacco would present the Steelers, compared to previous Bengals starting quarterback Jake Browning, who was filling in for the injured Joe Burrow.
As expected, Flacco had a great deal of success against the Steelers, who had to shift their preparation in a short week from Browning to Flacco.
