For a wide receiver who once caught 39 passes in a season and has a Super Bowl championship on his resume, accepting a lesser role to stick around in the NFL might have been challenging.
But for Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Ben Skowronek, that was his path to remaining in the NFL. He’s embraced his special teams ace role with the Steelers, carving out a key role in the Black and Gold in recent years.
He’s earned plenty of praise in the process, too. He is in the mix to be a Pro Bowler this season under special teams coordinator Danny Smith.
