Thursday’s preseason finale against the Atlanta Falcons might feel like an afterthought. One more game that doesn’t count on the win/loss sheet, the final appetizer before the main course of regular season action, an exciting Week One showdown against the San Francisco 49ers just weeks away.
But for those playing in this game, it means a lot. The reality is this is the last chance for those on the 90-man roster to prove they belong before cutdowns on Aug. 29. More specifically, it’s a chance for players closer to that 90th spot on the team to show they can at least stick on the practice squad.
