‘Tis the season for the word “tender” to get a lot of play and the Steelers used it last evening. They gave placekicker Chris Boswell a second round tender for $2.9 million. As a restricted free agent, Boswell can entertain offers from other teams. Should he choose to sign with said team and the Steelers don’t match, they would receive a second round pick in return. That amount is actually pretty inexpensive for an all-pro kicker because there are guys equal to or lesser than Boswell making significantly more money.
