Good Monday to you Steelers’ fans.
On this day in 1901 Art Rooney was born. 32 years later he would own the Pittsburgh Steelers. There is an entire generation of fans who know little about the man who founded one of the great professional sports franchises in the world but…. any self-respecting fan of the Black and Gold would have done their homework to at least know a little about the man known as “The Chief.” The cigar-chomping man of Irish descent passed away in 1988 but thankfully he lived long enough to see his Steelers win four of their first six Super Bowl titles.
