A professional football general manager is often among the most hated people from any fan base. But there are times when that person deserves some accolades. Kevin Colbert went out and signed cornerback Steven Nelson who many thought was getting way too much money. Several Chiefs’ fans I spoke with said “good luck” about as sarcastically as possible yet Nelson has been terrific on the corner opposite Joe Haden. Colbert also made the very ‘un-steeler-like’ decision to trade a first round pick for Minkah Fitzpatrick. I’m never crazy about trading first rounders but this trade made sense and it has now made even more since he arrived.
