The Pittsburgh Steelers invested heavily in their defensive front, in part because of the way things went down against the Baltimore Ravens at the end of last season. Yet the three defensive rookies didn’t end up playing that large of a role in Week 18, with one of the lowest rookie class snap totals of the season. The veterans led the way with Cam Heyward, Keeanu Benton and Alex Highsmith playing the biggest roles.
Derrick Harmon had his first matchup against Derrick Henry and the Ravens, and Harmon played pretty well in 36 defensive snaps. He was one of the reasons why the Ravens’ run game stopped working after a shaky first quarter for the Steelers’ defense.
