I get that Le’Veon Bell wants to be paid. He’s told us enough times, right? I don’t think he’s worth what he’s after in a long-term contract, but I respect his right and commitment to ask for it. He’s a terrific football player, as a runner, receiver and blitz protector.
What I don’t understand is why Bell is making himself so unlikable by playing the martyr role. It is so unnecessary. If people really are against him, as he wants us to believe, he has only himself to blame for coming across as greedy and selfish. He must think isolating himself is motivation for greatness.
