DK Metcalf is one of the more physically gifted receivers the NFL has seen in some time. And yet, he isn’t quite living up to the massive five-year contract extension he received from the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, shortly after they traded a second-round pick for him.
He’s had some great moments, including his 80-yard catch and run against Minnesota. But inconsistencies have plagued the whole offense, Metcalf included. One of the biggest spots where he’s failing to show up is contested catch situations. Despite his frame, the 6-4, 229-pounder just isn’t able to come down with them at a consistent rate.
