Report: Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier has begun a walking routine

According to a report by ESPN, Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier has regained movement in his legs and has begun a regular walking routine.

Shazier, who suffered a spinal cord injury Dec. 4 in Cincinnati, was discharged from UPMC Mercy last week. The hospital said he will continue his rehabilitation on an outpatient basis.

Shazier posted a picture on Instagram the day of his discharge that showed him standing next to Ben Roethlisberger. Shazier thanked his doctors, family and teammates for their support throughout his recovery, but he did not go into detail about his rehab.

The ESPN report did not divulge any other details about Shazier other quoting a source saying he is making “incredible progress.
