Related Topics: Atlanta Falcons, Jonnu Smith

In a surprise move Tuesday afternoon during the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, the Atlanta Falcons released veteran tight end Jonnu Smith, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Jonnu Smith was set to make $6.5 million in 2024 before being released by the Falcons.

Smith spent the 2023 season with the Falcons and had a great bounce back to his career after two rough seasons with the New England Patriots.

In 2023, Smith recorded 50 receptions for 582 yards and three touchdowns, holding down a key role in former head coach Arthur Smith’s scheme.

The move to Atlanta in 2023 was a key reunion for the Smiths as Jonnu Smith had great success in Tennessee in 2019 and 2020 under Arthur Smith when he was the offensive coordinator for the Titans.
