The Baltimore Ravens announced the signing of Pro Bowl TE Mark Andrews to a new three-year contract extension yesterday. That’s not something you would ever hear of the Steelers doing, since they don’t do in-season contract negotiations. Baltimore, however, has never shied away from that, and in fact has used that tool quite liberally over the years.
The signing of Andrews to an extension is interesting, though, at least in terms of the arc of that particular story. Andrews began the offseason the subject of rumors and speculation, with intimations that the Ravens could move on from him.
