Rapoport Thinks Mike Tomlin Stays – But Outlines Scenario Of How He’d Leave

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has been steadfast in his belief that Mike Tomlin will remain the Pittsburgh Steelers head coach. That the notion of firing Mike Tomlin is a “crazy” idea that won’t come to fruition. But in a world where Tomlin is not coaching in Pittsburgh anymore, Rapoport outlined what that would look like.

“If Tomlin is not the coach of the Steelers in 2026, my understanding is it will be because that is what he wants,” Rapoport said on NFL Gameday Sunday morning. “Now, here’s one scenario of how this might happen.
