Adam Schefter dropped a bombshell report last night when he revealed that Mike Tomlin has a 2027 team option in his contract that has a decision due on March 1. It opened up the door for a possible mutual parting of ways this offseason. According to Ian Rapoport, that probably isn’t the way that things go down. Don’t expect them to decline that option.
“That deal, however, contains a team option that must be picked up by March to lock in that 2027 season,” Rapoport wrote on NFL.com. “That’s why it’s likely the team would pick the option up, sources say.
