When DK Metcalf was suspended for two games, many were right to assume it would hamper the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense. Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema was one of them, and he warned that the unit could look very bad against Cleveland. Unfortunately, the Steelers proved him right. Pittsburgh put up just six points in a brutal performance against one of the worst teams in the league. Now, Sikkema is even more pessimistic regarding the Steelers’ offense against the Ravens.
“I don’t know what this offense has without Metcalf. The Arthur Smith game plan for them, the entire season, has been let DK Metcalf be a one-on-one winner… If teams start to allocate multiple players in coverage to DK Metcalf, now you have a numbers advantage somewhere else,” Sikkema said Wednesday on The PFF NFL Show.
