Perspective Of An Average Steelers Fan: Pittsburgh Says ’23 Skidoo’ To Miami

Just before kickoff, I experienced a flashback to January 2018. I sat in the same seats, the weather almost identical, a frosty 17 degrees after a snowfall. The Steelers were playing another team from Florida. Back then, I felt very confident. The Steelers were accustomed to playing in frosty conditions. The Jacksonville Jaguars were not. Besides, the Steelers were favored over Jacksonville by a touchdown in the AFC Divisional round. But Pittsburgh dug itself a 21-0 hole that it never quite climbed out of, succumbing 45-42 despite a furious comeback attempt.

I should have felt confident again. The Steelers were favored by three points.
