James Harrison announced his second retirement Monday morning, but it seems pretty clear he won’t be making another comeback.
It’s a shame Harrison’s final year will be what so many people remember. He did it to himself, but his career deserves a lot more respect than his end will merit.
Harrison is a Steelers all-time great. He had an excellent career, was the heart of some of the franchise’s greatest defenses and made what many will remember as the greatest play in Steelers Super Bowl history.
The last year was rough, though, because he was unhappy with his role and felt the Steelers lied to him about how much he would be a part of the rotation.
