It’s been an underwhelming year for Pittsburgh Steelers WR DK Metcalf. Acquired this offseason to be Pittsburgh’s No. 1 wide receiver, Metcalf has 32 receptions for 502 yards and five touchdowns this season, but he has just 10 receptions for 96 yards over the Steelers’ last three games. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, QB Aaron Rodgers said that other receivers need to get open to lessen the burden on Metcalf.
“Other guys gotta get open and make plays. Because DK’s a super talented guy, but we haven’t been able to get him the targets that we want to because he’s getting doubled every third down, basically,” Rodgers said via Chris Adamski of TribLive on Twitter.
