Rookie outside linebacker Tuzar Skipper went unclaimed on waivers Wednesday following him being waived Tuesday by the New York Giants, according to the NFL daily transaction report.
In the six games that Skipper was with the Giants he played a total of 40 defensive snaps and 27 special teams snaps. He registered two total defensive tackles, both assists, with one of those being a half a sack. He was also credited with a fumble recovery on defense and one special teams tackle.
Skipper, who originally made the Steelers initial 53-man roster back in September after registering an NFL-best five sacks during the preseason, was waived by the team just prior to the Week 1 game against the New England Patriots to make room for the promotion of wide receiver Johnny Holton from the practice squad.
