The Pittsburgh Steelers’ six-game losing streak in the playoffs is well-documented, and Steelers fans are surely tired of hearing about it. But one common theme during those six instances is slow starts, both offensively and defensively. Over those playoff games, the Steelers have been outscored a combined 66-0 in the first quarter. Lots of those issues have stemmed from Teryl Austin’s defense.
Last week, the Steelers played what was basically a playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens, as the winner advanced to the playoffs and the loser went home. Less than a minute and a half into the second quarter, Pittsburgh was already down 10-0.
