No Long-Term Deal for Dupree; Steelers Will Move Forward in 2021

Four o’clock Eastern came and went in Pittsburgh, PA today and with it went the potential long-term deal for Steelers’ Outside Linebacker Bud Dupree. What this means in the short term is quite simple; Dupree will earn over $15 million for the 2020 season. For the long run however, it likely means the end of his time as a Steeler.

Why It Could Go Up

Dupree and his agent recently filed an appeal with the NFLPA suggesting he should be listed as a Defensive End rather than Linebacker. Should Dupree be successful, his tag would go up about $2 million meaning he’d earn around $17 million for the season.
