Pittsburgh Steelers OLB Nick Herbig suffered a hamstring injury in the team’s second preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and there hasn’t been much of an update on Herbig’s status. Speaking to reporters ahead of Monday’s practice, Herbig said he’s still undergoing treatment on his injury.
“Getting treatment and rehab, taking care of everything else, making sure I’m as ready as I can possibly be,” Herbig said via Chris Adamski of TribLive.
Mark Kaboly of The Pat McAfee Show tweeted that Herbig said he hopes he’ll be ready for Week 1.
If Herbig can’t go against the Jets to open the season, the Steelers may be more inclined to keep five outside linebackers on their 53-man roster.
