New Ravens DC Martindale On Previous Disastrous Stint At Coordinator: ‘You Win Or You Learn’

As has been their pattern for the entire, though admittedly relatively short, history of the franchise, the Baltimore Ravens promoted from within this offseason in order to find their next defensive coordinator in the wake of the retirement of Dean Pees, who served as defensive coordinator since Chuck Pagano left to become a head coach.

Pees was brought in as their linebackers coach in 2010, and when he was promoted after two seasons, the Ravens brought in Don Martindale to fill that void. Now he is the second linebackers coach in a row to receive the promotion to defensive coordinator.
