New Bengals TE Irv Smith Feels Almost Like ‘The Missing Piece To Get Us That Super Bowl’

The Cincinnati Bengals signed a tight end in the second wave of free agency to a one-year deal who averages 42 catches per season for 286 yards and three touchdowns. “I feel like I’m almost the missing piece to get us that Super Bowl”, Irv Smith Jr. said after signing, via the team’s website.

A 2019 second-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings, Smith has caught 91 passes in his three seasons of play for 858 yards and nine touchdowns. He spent the 2021 season on the Reserve/Injured List, and caught just 25 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns in eight games played last year.
