Late in the game facing a critical punting situation last Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium against the Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf stepped up in a big moment.
Metcalf, who was in the midst of a season-best performance with seven receptions for 148 yards, showed just how team-first he is, doing whatever it takes to win. That included taking a gunner rep on Corliss Waitman’s final punt of the game as Metcalf stepped in for teammate Ben Skowronek, whom he thought was injured and couldn’t go.
Turns out Skowronek was fine and played gunner opposite Metcalf, drawing a crucial holding call in the process.
