Mike Tomlin Wants To See Rookie RB Kaleb Johnson ‘Trust Himself More’ In Second Preseason Game

There’s some concerns centering around rookie running back Kaleb Johnson entering the second preseason game for the Pittsburgh Steelers, especially after he had some struggles in his debut.

But head coach Mike Tomlin has no real concerns with the rookie looking ahead to Saturday’s second preseason matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Acrisure Stadium. All he wants from the rookie third-round pick is to trust himself and his abilities, and let the skillset take over.

“I just want to see him trust himself more,” Tomlin said of Johnson, according to video via Steelers.com. “I want to see him play more instinctually, trust his talents, and that’s reasonable to expect between the first experience and the second experience.
