With wide receiver DK Metcalf suspended and Calvin Austin III out with a hamstring injury, the Week 17 matchup against the Cleveland Browns was supposed to be a game in which second-year wide receiver Roman Wilson would get an opportunity to bounce back from being a healthy scratch in recent weeks.
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said as much during his press conference Tuesday, too, stating he was excited to see Wilson show growth amid the opportunity granted to him through one man’s misfortunate.
Instead, Wilson barely played Sunday in the 13-6 loss to the Browns, setting up a pivotal matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 18 at Acrisure Stadium with the AFC North on the line.
