Mike Tomlin doesn’t carry his playoff baggage from season to season, but it’s certainly accumulating frequent flyer miles. With each season that ends in dismal postseason failure, he continues to build a dubious legacy. Once a young wunderkind who made history by winning a Super Bowl at 36, he is now the old man who can’t get over the hump.
Lately, however, that hump has felt more like a mountain. In addition to tying the all-time NFL record for consecutive playoff losses, Mike Tomlin also made more dubious history. With yesterday’s loss, he now has nine one-and-done postseasons in his career, tied for the most ever.
