On the surface, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Connor Heyward and Baltimore Ravens’ Mark Andrews don’t seem to have anything in common. One is an undersized backup, the other a bonafide starter who just received a large contract extension. One a late round pick, the other a Top 100 selection. But in one respect, Mike Tomlin sees a commonality between the two. Both save their quarterbacks wear and tear.
In his weekly interview with Steelers.com’s Bob Labriola, Tomlin noted Andrews and Heyward are the “Tushers” on the tush push
“[Andrews] does a great job on the tush-push, and it minimizes some of those close quarter hits that Lamar would have to take,” Tomlin told Labriola.
