In one of the ugliest games of Mike Tomlin’s tenure that dropped the Pittsburgh Steelers to 6-6, a chorus of boos and “Fire Tomlin” chants replaced first quarter cheers at Acrisure Stadium Sunday evening.
Following the team’s 26-7 loss, Tomlin was asked to respond to the fan’s chant.
“I share their frustration tonight, man,” Tomlin said via the team’s YouTube channel. “We didn’t do enough. And that’s just reality of it.”
That frustration was well-earned. Pittsburgh lost in all three phases of the game. Offensively, the team posted just seven points on 43 total plays, 166 yards of offense, and barely more than 18 minutes of possession.
