Mike Tomlin delivers concerning injury update on promising Steelers defender

The Pittsburgh Steelers weren't able to escape the 2025 preseason without the injury bug biting. In the preseason finale, first-round rookie Derrick Harmon was carted into the locker room after sustaining what was later diagnosed as an MCL sprain.

Harmon will miss at least the opening game of the season against the New York Jets... and he might not be the only one.

In Pittsburgh's second preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, edge rusher Nick Herbig played just three snaps before sustaining a hamstring injury and was pulled from the game. At the time, Herbig had roughly three weeks to recover before the kickoff of the regular season.
