It’s not about how you start, but how you finish. For Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr., that is especially true when it comes to his 2025 season.
Porter, who entered Year 3 needing to take a big step forward to prove he could become a good NFL cornerback and one worth keeping around in Pittsburgh, got off to a slow start. He suffered an injury in the season opener against the New York Jets and didn’t return until Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns.
After getting back onto the field, Porter was slow out of the gates and struggled with penalties once again, particularly in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football.
