QB Mason Rudolph took over the reins of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense for the final three regular-season games of the 2023 season. The Steelers had been in control of their playoff destiny only a few short weeks earlier. But they had fallen to 7-7 and were on the outside looking in for the playoffs. Rudolph stepped in as the starter and helped guide the Steelers to three straight victories. With a little outside help from the Jacksonville Jaguars, Pittsburgh clinched the playoffs.
But even with that three-game stretch, the Steelers and Rudolph didn’t reach a contract agreement for the 2024 season.
