It took a while for Marquez Valdes-Scantling to get going with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was signed to the practice squad at the beginning of November, but had to wait to be elevated for over a month, before finally playing against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14.
However, Monday night’s win over the Miami Dolphins did provide him an opportunity. One that he took advantage of. Valdes-Scantling’s first catch with the Steelers ended in this 19-yard score.
Speaking after the game, Valdes-Scantling explained the play call.
“We went play action. Adam [Thielen] did a good job of inserting and making it look like run, so it got the safety to bite up.
