If position coaches are judged by the performance of their players, then Steelers OL coach Pat Meyer deserves some praise. Heavily scrutinized throughout his tenure in Pittsburgh, he finally has his unit turning the corner. And all it took was significant investments—including time and teaching—in the group.

At least, this is the narrative of the week following the Steelers’ strong performance against the Lions. And not without grounds, given all the movement in Pat Meyer’s unit lately. Down to their fourth-string left tackle, with their left guard missing the game in Detroit, while juggling the tackle-eligible role, it is a lot.
