Of all the small signings made throughout last offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ decision to add running back Kenneth Gainwell has been one of the best. They got him for extremely cheap, after Gainwell was behind some talented players at his position throughout his rookie contract in Philadelphia.
Now playing alongside Jaylen Warren, Gainwell gets more work than previous years. And aside from just running the ball, he’s getting a massive workload in the passing game. His 62 receptions shatter his previous career high of 33. He currently leads all Steelers’ pass catchers in that category.
Speaking on Cam Heyward’s Not Just Football podcast earlier this week, Gainwell was asked if he’s ever thought about switching to receiver.
