Small update on the man who will probably be the answer to a trivia question someday in Pittsburgh. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Justin Gilbert has cleared waivers and is now a free agent.

Gilbert clearing is certainly no surprise. Any team claiming him would’ve picked up his roster bonus owed to him in the offseason and overall $2.2 million cap hit. With the Pittsburgh Steelers dumping him, implying they don’t think he can be successful in the league, it’s a clear sign for everyone else to stay away for now, and whenever he does sign, probably for league minimum.
