Javon Hargrave does more than just eat up blockers

There was a time when the Steelers nose guards might have 10 tackles in an entire season. In fact, five-time Pro Bowler Casey Hampton, regarded by many as the best nose guard in franchise history, twice finished with fewer than 10 tackles in a season.

And no one ever questioned whether Hampton should have been more productive. His job was to eat up opposing blockers, which allowed linebackers such as James Farrior and Larry Foote to make all the tackles.

So when Javon Hargrave posted 10 tackles (four solo and six assisted) against the Jaguars it raised some eyebrows.
