James Conner leads the way in Steelers preseason win over Falcons

All in all, the Steelers second act in the preseason wasn’t going very well, until a 5-7 scatback and rookie James Conner brought it to life.

With what passes as their first teams on offense and defense in these games, they did little through three series in the first half against the Atlanta Falcons subs.

But then little Trey Williams scooted to a 64-yard touchdown on a punt return and Conner spearheaded a fourth-quarter touchdown drive to give the Steelers a 17-13 comeback victory in a game they trailed 13-3 at halftime.

Conner made his much anticipated Steelers debut at halfback and after some early mixed results when he dropped two wide-open passes, he hit high gear.
