James Conner gets open, passes Steelers' no-huddle test

PITTSBURGH -- Ben Roethlisberger let James Conner know that if he got winded during the no-huddle attack, the Steelers quarterback would get him a breather by calling a play or two for someone else.

Six receptions for 52 yards later, Conner never asked for that breather in extended action against the Tennessee Titans on Saturday.

"He never said anything to me, so I like the shape he's in," Roethlisberger said after the 16-6 victory. "I'm excited with what James can do and has been doing."

Conner added more flavor to his productive preseason by showcasing ability in the passing game as an option over the middle.
