Former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor played twelve seasons in the black and gold and won two Super Bowls. He had a great career going from a late-round pick to a key starter on multiple Super Bowl-winning teams.
But he’s quick to credit the mentorship from one of his unheralded teammates for his success.
Appearing on Cam Heyward’s Not Just Football podcast this week, Taylor reminisced about his early days in the NFL and credited longtime teammate Deshea Townsend with his development early in his career.
When asked who took him under his wing, Taylor said without hesitation that Townsend was there for him from day one.
