Last Sunday night, we watched the tush push/’Spartan’ short-yardage play without Pittsburgh Steelers TE Darnell Washington. Normally, he lines up behind and slightly to the side of TE Connor Heyward to help drive Heyward forward. Unfortunately, Washington suffered a broken arm the previous week and could not play against the Baltimore Ravens.
Enter DT Cam Heyward. For once, the ‘Brotherly Shove’, as it is known in the eastern part of Pennsylvania, had two biological brothers involved. Although Connor has run the play throughout the season, this was Cam’s first game experience. And he felt the pressure, according to his younger brother.
