Lost in his dominant day as a receiver, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf had an important moment on special teams, too.
Metcalf, who hauled in a season-high seven passes for 148 yards in the Steelers’ 27-22 win over the Baltimore Ravens, found himself on the field late in the fourth quarter on special teams, doing something he hadn’t done since his college days at Ole Miss: serving as gunner on punt.
With Ben Skowronek dealing with an injury, Metcalf stepped up in a moment of need. He was on the field for Corliss Waitman’s final punt, which resulted in a 55-yard net punt after the Ravens were called for holding, putting them at their own 26-yard line with the game on the line.
