Though he’s on the growing list of candidates, Brian Flores doesn’t appear to be the favorite to become the Pittsburgh Steelers’ next head coach. The Athletic’s Dianna Russini met yesterday’s report that the Steelers requested an interview with Flores with skepticism that he’ll be Mike Tomlin’s successor.
“I don’t think so. I lean towards no,” Russini said on FOX Sports’ Wake Up Barstool Thursday morning.
Flores spent the 2022 season in Pittsburgh’s building, serving as a senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach after being fired by the Miami Dolphins. Suing the NFL and shunned by the rest of the league, the Steelers and Mike Tomlin specifically offered a lifeline to keep him coaching.
