Aaron Rodgers usually has plenty to say. But when it came to explaining why tight end Pat Freiermuth continued to be ignored for large stretches of the season and in Monday night’s Wild Card loss, he was at a loss for words like every Steelers fan.
Freiermuth finished the night with just one catch for 18 yards on three targets, failing to generate even a look until Pittsburgh began trailing big in the second half. A game that summed up the season, Rodgers was pressed why Freiermuth wasn’t a bigger part of the offense.
“Yeah, I don’t know,” he said after the Steelers’ 30-6 loss to the Texans via the team’s YouTube channel after the game.
