Hoke: Steelers’ Defense Is ‘Starting To Believe’, Will ‘Shut Down’ Texans’ Offense

After coming into the season with extremely high expectations, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense started slow out of the gate. A bad New York Jets team nearly beat Pittsburgh to start the year, and it really took the unit some time to find it’s footing.

Even heading into the Wild Card round, there are some questions. But not to former Steeler Chris Hoke. He thinks the defense is finally starting to turn a corner, and expects it to have some success against the Houston Texans next Monday night.

“If they play like they played against the Ravens, if they are physical like the Ravens, they’re gonna have no problem controlling this Texans’ offensive line… I think the Steelers can get after this offensive line, and really shut down this offense, if they play like they played against the Ravens,” Hoke said Wednesday on 93.
