‘He Was A Monster:’ Mike Tomlin Sums Up Alex Highsmith’s Performance Against Lions

The Pittsburgh Steelers were down OLB T.J. Watt and OLB Nick Herbig for their Week 16 matchup against the Detroit Lions. This put the onus on OLB Alex Highsmith to lead the EDGE unit. Highsmith did just that, getting pressure consistently on QB Jared Goff. He finished with six tackles, two for a loss, and two quarterback hits. After the game, Mike Tomlin succinctly summed up Highsmith’s performance.

“He was a monster, he just was. He came to play today, I knew he would,” Tomlin said via the team’s YouTube channel.

Highsmith has been one of the NFL’s best defensive players this season when he’s been healthy.
