'He could go to 100': At 80 years old, Dick LeBeau shows no signs of slowing down

After parting ways with the Steelers, Nashville “checked a lot of the boxes" for the NFL’s oldest coach

Birthday surprises don’t come much bigger than what awaited Dick LeBeau, the Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator, at the team hotel in Houston one Saturday night in late September. LeBeau stepped into the hallway after a meeting and saw three large men, their backs turned toward him. He paused, and they turned: James Farrior, Brett Keisel and Casey Hampton.

They had come to surprise “Coach Dad” for his 80th birthday.

“He was totally shocked,” Farrior recalled. “He said it was the best birthday gift he ever had.
